@tiffany It's not Western media, it's from the anime Little Witch Academia. Studio Trigger just utilized a very stylized approach in the design for the short which merged influences from both Western and Japanese animation.

@tiffany Yeah they funded a sequel OVA to it through KickStarter and it's called Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade. It'll debut at Anime Expo on July 3rd and I assume from there it'll eventually make its way to other media outlets.

@tiffany I mean, the writing wasn't anything exceptional but it was still solid and very well contained. I just think it has an impeccable sense of personality and the visual direction has this gorgeous command of motion and colour that I find really visually captivating. It has a really whimsical and charming sense of humour too. Overall I just had a really fun time with it.

@tiffany Well Studio Trigger /is/ pretty much made up of a lot of really talented people who used to work at Studio Gainax, so the animation quality certainly isn't that surprising for me. But yeah, it's especially great in LWA!
