@metaltao Dude, it's a Metal Gear game.

@bobo I've just never seen anything so wildly weird from Metal Gear before. It is a silly game at times. But this just seemed to stick out to me like a sore thumb. Not in a clearly bad or a good way, just, awkwardly in the middle. Don't know where to place it.

@metaltao Metal Gear practically thrives on its incredibly melodramatic flourishes of silliness. You have to keep in mind this is the same series where there's a character who can grow killer bees inside his body, a character who can read your mind by accessing your console's memory card, and a deceased character that possesses another character by having his arm implanted into that character.

@northernnarwhal I see, though a lot of those I find fascinating and interesting and kind of understandable. The bee thing even! The whole Plasmids from Bioshock, placing a controller into another port to effectively "think" differently or to "Mask" your "thoughts" was new and exciting (And a little bit daring). The arm thing reminds me a lot of a cursed blade. Or of an episode from Teen Titans where Cyborg has to effectively combat himself and ends up being left as an arm where his friends have to find the rest of his body (Or something along those lines) Myabe, I find it weird because I don't have an analogue to explain Quiet's abilities the same way with the others. I tried thinking for a bit, and all I can think of was Hellboy's Abe Sapien. Though, he had to end up having this water neck brace thing in order to breathe through his gills. And, I guess he couldn't live in sandy or dust places without water which makes it conflict with this Quiet scenario. Maybe some kind of bias?

@metaltao I can't really explain Quiet because I haven't played MGS5 and know very little about it, I'm just saying the Metal Gear series is known to be pretty ludicrous. It can pretty much explain anything it wants to (from surviving being shot in the head several times to surviving several minutes in a chamber with thousands of microwaves) with its nanomachines mcguffin.

@northernnarwhal Aye... i will see if I can get over this hump here. Like, try to deal with it.

@metaltao I'd say your best bet is to try and take those elements of the game with a grain of salt.
