            @awl That's the American way. the government doesn't go over and take down horrible dictators because they're committing human rights violations. They only do it when there is a direct threat to US economic interests. And if the dictators play nice with the US, they can continue to terrorize their people.

              @rarity Indeed. Osama Bin Laden was backed to the hilt by the US government during the Soviet-Afghan War. The same is true of Islamist groups in Syria that became part of ISIS.
