I wanted to set up my cable modem router so I can access my home server from outside and I have to say that the modem we got from the Internet provider suuuuuucks. I can't even set up a simple port redirection, neither opening one (only for this there is an option). But that stupid thing doesn't accept the IP address I type in. It's invalid apparently... Stupid Chinese crap. It's a Hitron CVE-30360.

@adiwan I hate using rented routers. I have an Asus router, forget what the model is, but it gets 450mb down.

@mrmattimation We didn't have to pay extra for that crap. I'm just looking for a new router that's compatible with my provider. It's utterly embarassing that such a simple feature doesn't work.

@adiwan Oh... I have to write the IP in the IPv6 format and that piece of cherry doesn't say me that.

@adiwan I've been using Huawei for years without issues, but you might be able to get something better, being in germany.

@nerthos The only thing I see that's definitely working is a AVM FritzBox! 6360.
