A friend of mine built a nice clock using an arduino and a LED strip. So it got me interested in the whole arduino business and I looked up what such a board costs. I'm extremely impressed how cheap clone arduinos are.

@adiwan A spinning led bar clock ?

@critialcloudkicker Something like that https://learn.adafruit.com/system/assets/assets/000/015/862/medium800/led_pixels_04.jpg?1397760767 but with three small light bars for the hour, minute, and seconds.

@adiwan 3 led-circles indicating time ? Cool
-
@critialcloudkicker It is one circle with RGB LEDs. So when the bars overlap the colors will be mixed. Right now he has red for hours, blue for minutes and green for seconds. Later he changes the code to make other color themes possible depending on the time of day. He installed a light sensor to reduce the brightness of the LEDs when it's getting dark.
