@mushi winter...? I thought it was summer. Oh my. :x Um...yeah. Kanji is very difficult I think.. XD Not even Japanese students understand Kanji too well. it depends because my friend who is in high school...she is having difficulty with her Kanji... (>_<) lolol

@vampixxkitty my teacher said that, once you know kanji, that ios better to read than katakana and hiragana because it makes the sentences shorter.

@mushi it does but there are so many Kanji for the same word unfortunately and you need to know which one is the proper one for the sentence. It is not easy if you ask me. XD it is very difficult, I think.... (>_<) and I personally think Hiragana is the easiest... Katakana is used mainly for English words... :3 If you want to see what I mean, check out my Japanese blog. I have the link for it on my profile on here. o3o

@vampixxkitty i know, they use katakana for englishaztion and onomatopeyas. And yes, by the end of the high school, the poor japanese people need to knowat least about 2000 abligatory kanjis

@vampixxkitty I think it was based on the career you took or something like that. At least that's what I gathered from a Japanese teacher I had at high school. I hate ideogram based languages. They're perfect for whoever creates them, then fine for the second generation, and so on... and after a couple centuries they just don't make sense at all.

@nerthos Well In Japan, you don't really NEED to know Japanese because the younger generation knows english fluently (for the most part) and it's mandatory to learn english in school. but regardless, that's not the point. the point being is that Japanese is not that easy to learn. it takes time and practice. just like learning any other language. :3

@vampixxkitty I find it really easy to understand. It's structure is simple and to the point, very efficient. And the pronunciation is easy for me, being a Spanish native speaker. Yet it all changes with written japanese. Maybe a couple years in Japan would do me good.

@vampixxkitty The Japanese culture is pretty strange in that regard. I like it tough, it's one of my favourites. Their language fits them, I think. It's really easy and efficient in concept, but really hard to remember completely due to thousands of small things, be it kanjis or context-sensitive rules.
