Does OpenToonz or whatever have the same smoothing problems as Flash? What are the pros and cons of it? I can't stand animating in Flash anymore at all.

@bigpony I tried it out. Basically unusable.

@bigpony I dunno how the guys at Ghibli can stand it, honestly. The brush is WORSE than Flash, the interface is convoluted, some basic features like the toolbar are hidden by default...
-
@bigpony I would give ToonBoom a try. Its interface doesn't make any god damn sense either but its vector brush tool is very, very nice.
-
@mrmattimation I've tried Toonboom and it's brush was nice, but everything else was atrocious. It had a bunch of serious issues. Sounds like you hate Toonz, but looking at other reviews, it's just a bit of a learning curve. Maybe I should just try it out myself(?)

@bigpony Alternatively, apparently Clip Studio (one of the best art softwares I've ever used) now has a timeline.
-
@bigpony I would definitely give it a try, maybe you'll have more luck than I did.
-
@mrmattimation Yeah, I knew there's a whole animation suite for it. I don't have $50 to spend, though.
