    1. @ceruleanspark I hope it's fine for a Linux fanboy to smile when someone who chose to use Microsoft products is disappointed at Microsoft? :3

      1. @omni It's funny because the only company operating in the mobile sector that doesn't screw you over in this exact way is Apple.

        1. @ceruleanspark I can't update my iPod Touch to any decent version of iOS, does that count? OT, but Just wondering, can you use a normal USB connection with any random file manager or program to put music and data on or off a Windows Phone? I hate how I'm forced to use iJunk or crappy reverse-engineered protocols just to put a song on a music player...

          1. @omni Sorry if this seems out of the blue, but do you use Skype, Gtalk or MSN by any chance?

            1. @scribble I don't use Skype, I don't have Gtalk (though, it using Jabber and all, I wouldn't mind making an account), but I do have an MSN account. Why? Do you want to add me on any of these services?

              1. @omni *derps and realizes he already has a Google account*

              2. @omni Yup, I feel like we should talk more.

              3. @omni The protocol isn't called Jabber anymore, so Google Talk and Jabber.org use !XMPP.

                1. @scribble Oh, I just send you a message. Oh well, guess I'll add you then

          2. @omni No. It's whatever protocol the Zune uses. The difference between Apple and everyone else is they wait two full hardware generations before abandoning support for a given product. The Lumia series has all of two phones in it and they're not compatible with Windows Phone 8.

            1. @ceruleanspark I see. Guess, as a Linux user, Android is still the only reasonable choice for me.

              1. @omni Android is never a reasonable choice

                1. @ceruleanspark With CyanogenMod it's pretty nice to use. But the issue right now is this: iOS = no reasonable USB support, WP = no reasonable USB support, Android = You copy stuff over USB, and it works. The only thing that's left is KDE Plasma Active, but that's only for tablets for now and, when trying it out and following the tutorial, the part where I checked which windows were open showed me the home screen and "KDE Crashreporter"...

                      1. @omni You cannot, but you should. WebOS is the light.

                2. @ceruleanspark I think that Replicant or Cyanogenmod + F-Droid is the best !fs solution at the moment.

                  1. @jla You can run Replicant together with CyanogenMod? Replicant sounded great, but I was afraid I'd lose CyanogenMod. Then again, I don't think I can run Replicant on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Gio) anyway =/
