I mean, I get the urge to break away from purely either/or nomenclature, and to express more accurately the variety that exists, but maybe some things can just be "in between"? I dunno. As a cismale fan of Alice Cooper who almost exclusively opts to play female video game characters (and often in tabletop gaming), maybe there's a specifically named pixel of the gradient for me and I never knew it. Who the hell am I to say? My 30s, bah! I need a nap... #oldmanscribus

@scribus Honestly I consider myself as progressive as they come but it gets to a point where labels become totally redundant, in my opinion. Even if in the future it becomes the norm to have these kinds of terms (and if that's what people end up wanting then that's a-okay), I feel like applying all of this stuff at once is just going to make more conservative people even more opposed to the cause. I get that it's kind of long overdue for people to finally be allowed to be themselves like this, but it's happened over millennia and we have to take it one step at a time, no matter how beneficial these changes would (subjectively) be.

@tiffany That's another thing, I came up through the dead center of the "disregard labels, be yourself" movement, so I guess I've got some unlearning to do.

@scribus I'd be lying if I said that labels didn't make explaining myself at least somewhat easier, but it doesn't exactly feel right to give myself most of the terms I do so it's a bit counterproductive

@tiffany Yeah, I know finally having a word for yourself is a nice way to build a foundation. I actually would love to see the cis- prefix become the norm. Aaannd I am now making a cis/fluid/trans, male/other/female 3rd edition alignment style GRID OF GENDERS!!
