  1. The cathedral was amazing and it was a shame I didn't have the time to go in and look at the interior http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/842098

      1. @zennx It's a cathedral, you're not supposed to climb. The spire likely has a set of stairs inside for maintenance and such, but they're mostly a hall the height of the building, with decorated walls. There's nothing to climb to other than the statues. The three entrances alone have lifesize statues of the twelve apostles.

    2. @nerthos very pretty. I always liked the look of older cathedrals.

      1. @awl This one is actually newish, inaugurated in 1905, but emulating the ones from the two previous centuries, mostly the french and spanish ones.

        1. @nerthos would you have had to pay to get in, or is it free for public?

          1. @awl Wait, there are churches you need to pay to get in? That's the first time I hear it. It's a cathedral, which means any believer can go in to pray and listen to service, as well as any passerby to see it, even if from another religion, as there's a chance of conversion. I didn't go in because I didn't have that much time, and service was ongoing at the time so it would have been improper to go around taking pics then.

            1. @nerthos when we were in Venice we went to, there was a cathedral we had to pay to get in to. That might have been because it was a tourist attraction?

              1. @awl Oh, probably. Here the priests would frown on it though.

          2. @awl @nerthos If I'm ever back I'll go in and ask the priest for permission to film and take photos of it.
