    I complain a lot about how sterile and flat and stiff modern animation is, especially shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy and Steven Universe, but even today The Simpsons manages to give its characters some interesting poses. This is from around 2009. http://rainbowdash.net/url/843445

      @mrmattimation In fairness, as reductive as me saying this is, lots of modern animation simply also doesn't have the budget lots of classic animated works did.

        @narwhal Well, you also have to consider how much cheaper animation is to produce today. What was previously done with pencils, cels, film, ink, and paint is now done with Wacom tablets, ToonBoom, Photoshop, and computers straight off of the shelf at the closest Apple Store.
