    After a short test I can attest that the laser is busted. Not a huge financial loss.

      @adiwan well, if you only wanted the DAC anyway, you could probably mutilate the laser assembly out of another unit to create a Frankenstein system

        @ceruleanspark Other than that the SCPH-1002 has chinch outputs for the audio and video. I try to disassemble the laser and try some extensive cleaning. Maybe I fumble with the laser potentiometer when I'm at it. If I had another broken PS1 I'd try to do a Frankenstein.
