@widget Yeah, death is permanent in Nethack. (Well, you can be saved from a single fatal thing by an amulet of life saving, but once you actually do die, that's it for that character.)

@minti Well, yes. But my roguelike needs are more than satisfied by Brogue, so I'm not sure why I still feel like making one. :/

@widget It's a subgenre of dungeon-crawler characterized by a number of things, chiefly random dungeon generation and permadeath. Most of them are either descended from, or partly inspired by the dungeon-crawler Rogue, hence the name.
