Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:12:46 UTC from web
        1. @mushi Yeah, those too, but mostly we used either actual beyblades or cheap plastic ones with a key and string.

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:13:57 UTC from web
          1. @nerthos after beyblade became a thing we mostly played with the caps of detergent bottles, but some also did them with a nail and a soda bottle cap

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:15:55 UTC from web
            1. @mushi What are detergent caps like over there?
My cousin scared himself to the point of duck and cover by building a spinny thing out of a CD and a cola bottle cap and making it spin with a string, which caused it to fly furiously, hit the roof, and explode in plastic shards.

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:19:25 UTC from web
              1. @nerthos some bottles have those caps that are perfect for beyblade making

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:24:19 UTC from web
                1. @mushi you drink Lava?

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:30:21 UTC from web
                      1. @rarity It's detergent for washing dishes

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:30:34 UTC from web
                        1. @nerthos And you DRINK that!?

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:31:14 UTC from web
                          1. @scribus Mushi drinks detergent, gains the ability to use bubble beam

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:31:26 UTC from web
                        2. @nerthos OH that makes more sense, I know what lava means. I just thought itt was a drink and was severely confused

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:31:41 UTC from web
                          1. @rarity It says "dish washer"

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:32:58 UTC from web
                            1. @nerthos @mushi Portuguese throws me off even more because my Spanish is so rusty and there's quite a few common words

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:34:27 UTC from web
                              1. @rarity Same.

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:35:05 UTC from web
                              2. @rarity same with me and Spanish/Italian. Catalan I'm OK with, mostly because I learned it first.

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:35:15 UTC from web
                              3. @rarity About a third of the words are common to both, so unless your spanish is really good trying to read it by approximation is a slippery slope. I can read it just fine but only because I know which words aren't related to similarly-sounding spanish words.

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:36:03 UTC from web
                                1. @nerthos @awl it's crazy how even though I spent my first 5 years bilingual, how quickly lack of practice can kick in

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:36:57 UTC from web
                                  1. @rarity ye

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:37:25 UTC from web
                      2. @rarity oh, Lava means "Lava" in portuguese too, but in that pic it is something like "dishes whaser" as it is a detergent bottle

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:33:34 UTC from web
                2. @mushi Oh! yeah, those were great. Similar to the cola bottles but wider and more robust.

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:28:19 UTC from web
                  1. @nerthos hm, the gule tube is similar here, but the detergent ones are better because they had lower mass center

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:31:10 UTC from web
                    1. @mushi Yeah, the cola ones had a high mass center and required a heavy-ish disk attached.

Sunday, 12-Feb-17 02:32:11 UTC from web
