  1. Though at the new apartment, we're walking distance from a convenience store, a Gamestop, a used game store (carries NES to N64-era, primarily), a ton of restaurants, Target, Best Buy, a thrift shop... this apartment is in a great area <3

      1. @lyrica There used to be a Play N Trade at one of the shopping centers at this intersection, but they closed :( It's an Apollo Games.

          1. @lyrica Play N Trade is overrated. I had three in my city, two now, and they are not really good businesses. Have fun trying to plow through hundreds of sports game cartridges to find a decent game, then pay fifty dollars for it. I explained to one of the guys that they can't just add twenty bucks to a game price because "it's collectible," especially when they don't even have the box for the game. Then the wish list system - ho boy. When thirty people are in front of you for a copy of whatever it is you think they'll get, you're in for a bumpy ride.

              1. @lyrica Unfortunately in my unique situation of losing interest in video gaming, I cannot offer any advice or useful information regarding your troubles.

            2. @crusader8 The Gamerz Exchange at the local mall is easily as bad about that, unless Digimon World's some super-rare game or something. Fifty bucks for a copy with no case or manual. :|

    5. @thatonepony most PC games have always been boring for me. But Roms, they hit the spot now and again.

    10. @thatonepony I don't play lots of popular current gen console games. As a matter of fact, I only own one game that also has a PC version. If I didn't have a horrid distaste for overdone genres like FPS, I'd say your argument was valid.

    11. @thatonepony Oh yeah and free-roam games I don't like either, which seems to be another popular genre for the past several years (see: Fallout 3, GTA, etc)

    12. @thatonepony there's more potential to gaming than those two genres. There's more potential for interactive entertainment that running amok with the same old weapons shooting the same old enemies for the same old reasons. I had my fill of playing those games a long time ago, and I figured that the formula of being some super mofo who lacks peripheral vision wasn't going to change. I had some hope with Bioshock and Portal 2, which are two of the only games I'll actively replay, but it seemed like the industry forgot them and moved on to the same ol "uuuh meh guuuhd we hafta kill these zombies/aliens/nazis/terrorists/zombies/robots/red teams - blue teams/zombies!" Don't pity me for wanting variety.
