@thatonepony there's more potential to gaming than those two genres. There's more potential for interactive entertainment that running amok with the same old weapons shooting the same old enemies for the same old reasons. I had my fill of playing those games a long time ago, and I figured that the formula of being some super mofo who lacks peripheral vision wasn't going to change. I had some hope with Bioshock and Portal 2, which are two of the only games I'll actively replay, but it seemed like the industry forgot them and moved on to the same ol "uuuh meh guuuhd we hafta kill these zombies/aliens/nazis/terrorists/zombies/robots/red teams - blue teams/zombies!" Don't pity me for wanting variety.
