@greydragon412 whodat

@greydragon412 I've a fewwwww Irl friends here. Some are regulars.
-
@greydragon412 You should totally come to buck as me and scribble are very likely to be going together, living in manchester its cherries-easy for you!
-
@greydragon412 Si Si.
-
@redenchilada But that one pony?
-
@greydragon412 Theres loads of tickets left
-
@carcino I've met him exactly once in real life.
-
@purplephish20 When is it again?
-
@hakupony august.... 18th and 19th
The white void likes this. -
@redenchilada So?
-
@greydragon412 £45
-
@carcino I don't really consider someone an IRL friend if I don't hang out with them IRL.
-
@greydragon412 :( but so much pony...... There will be many plushies on sale....
-
@purplephish20 Okay, the date would be managable for me. The next question would be if it would still be affordable. I'll keep that in mind when I make the planning.
-
@redenchilada Scribus is my irl friend. And Zark. And Gear. I've met them only once or twice. I mean, you guys are friends here.
-
@greydragon412 Your own pinkemena....
-
-
@greydragon412 Seriously... you gotta come down and meet us, its going to be the greatest thing ever.
-
@greydragon412 That would be a perfect birthday-gift for me :C
-
@greydragon412 You're like.... On the very outskirts of manchester, for you to not come would be an insult to those of us from further away who can't
-
@redenchilada i thought you've met, like, 10 times
-
@greydragon412 Sorry for asking this stupid question now: how old are you again?
-
@greydragon412 I know exactly how you feel.... I really do, it's through meetups I've been able to gain experience doing things on my own, before Joined the fandom I'd never been further than a half hour train ride on my own...
-
@abigpony The secret; broken glass.
-
@carcino i forgot what that was from. I remember it, though
-
@greydragon412 mmh... I hope you own a mobile phone. It really is nice for parents to be able to call anytime. Even if you are in a room where you don't get a signal, you could call back when you left the room. So they basically could always ask how you are and what you are doing. Maybe you can convince them like that.
-
@greydragon412 its difficult, remember you're 16 and I'm 19... At your age I'd not even made that half half hour train ride before on my own
-
@carcino ah yes. That fellow.
-
@abigpony What exactly is it?
-
@carcino spambot they keep around. It's the old horseebooks. I don't get the appeal, but plenty of other people do i guess.
-
@abigpony It just says the moat random things.
-
@greydragon412 to simplify it... I think it would be very healthy for you to come, in terms of exploring on your own away from family
-
@carcino yeah. It spams random stuff. I think it's actually linked from a twitter account.
-
@abigpony I don't know. The odd thing about it is the profile, which is vaguely pony.
-
@renovatedkitchen Hm. It's worth looking into I suppose.
-
@renovatedkitchen if it is... Why?
-
@carcino horseebooks sometimes called the ponies out by name. It was odd.
-
@abigpony These spam bots man. So advance.
-
@carcino it'd plug in websites and products, too. Someone really spent time making a bot say nonsensical stuff.
-
@abigpony @carcino So it seems to be @widget. http://rainbowdash.net/conversation/389438#notice-1728122
-
@abigpony They just took a generic markov text generator, loaded it with book quotes, and hooked it up to Twitter.
-
@abigpony I know.
-
@renovatedkitchen but why?
-
@redenchilada what are you even talking about? Horseebooks was a modern marvel.
-
@renovatedkitchen Hm.
-
@abigpony http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markov_chain#Markov_text_generators I've seen the technology before in quite a few IRC bots designed for entertainment. They got their quotes by lurking channels, whereas horse_ebooks' come from its Ebook collection, but it's otherwise the same science.
-
@redenchilada i don't have time to read about your nerdy math stuff. Also, why was horseebooks hardly ever even horse related and could go deep enough on occasion to name ponies by name?
-
@abigpony Because not every word in every book in its collection referenced horses. :p The algorithm is almost completely random, leading to some posts being deep and insightful (completely by chance) and some being complete nonsense. I dunno about naming ponies by name, though; either it picked those up somewhere (maybe it reads tweets that respond to it?) or, if you're just talking about here on RDN, widget logged into the account and made posts.
-
@redenchilada what is it with our obsession with these random generators?
-
@abigpony Beats m!
-
@redenchilada s/m/me/
-
@redenchilada Wait, its named ponies?
-
@techdisk42 I dunno.
