@vampixxkitty OK, I'm comfortable with not playing Windows games and proprietary and/or DRM employing games.

@jla what's good use of a laptop if you can't even do anything on linux? You can do almost nothing on linux. there is barely anything supported for it... i tested my theory and i was right about linux. I detest it so far. it was fun to use but at the same time, it kept freezing for long periods of time...so no go for me. I'm sticking to windows 7 which is compatible with many things....

@vampixxkitty I don't like Ubuntu personally, but there should be no lack of software. I've got Mint 13 on one of my laptops, and it's great.

@eaglehooves i tried mint but the cursor froze on me. regardless, it doesn't matter. i'm getting a new laptop and it's better. this new laptop has better RAM. my current laptop has 959 MB of RAM while the one my friend is selling me has 4 GB of RAM.... lol.

@eaglehooves not a driver issue. it's because my laptop is crap and i have alot of useless programs installed. it's also an old laptop anyway... >.> it's like 5 years old. ;-;

@vampixxkitty Usually that's the cause of cursor bugs. Linux freezes and Windows jumps like Pinkie on caffeine without the official driver on mine (generics suck).

@vampixxkitty I worked in Win7 once with !zsh, screen and !emacs in !Cygwin, it's not terrible but not ideal either.

@jla you make it sound like as if i actually know what you're even telling me.... i really don't what you're saying nor does it matter at the moment...it's about computer deviant things i would assume (which isn't my field of interest...) and i'm hungies.... ;-; ugghhh...

@vampixxkitty But my ATI card requires non-free firmware for 2D, 3D acceleration, I'm planning to get a Intel HD 4000 based system sometime.

@jla I use an ATI HD6570 card with the free drivers and the only non-free thing I needed was S3TC.

@toksyuryel I've multi-booted everything, and my opinion is to run whatever your good with. Trying to show Linux to a non computer person was one of the more painful things I've done.

@toksyuryel I confirmed on !Trisquel IRC that !linuxlibre does not include the firmware needed and it falls back on software rasterizer.

I love how ubuntu and mint are the only distros mentioned in a thread about "Linux" in the Trisquel group. At least summer is nice outside.
