A widely overseen frame you probably haven't noticed although it's part of the most famous scene of Rainbow Dash #framesyouhaventnoticed http://ur1.ca/4ds8h

@starshine Would actually fit very well. The expression on Twilight's face is then priceless with this caption.

@broniebrown I've been meaning to ask; how are you able to get those screen-captures so well? Do you have a program that slows the footage down or is it all luck with the pause button?

@zarkanorf Y'know, vlc has both a frame-step button and a screengrab function :)

@starshine I've only used vlc to watch downloaded pony and anime; all I thought it was was a program that just played everything forever. AND NOW I KNOW

@zarkanorf I use the movie player "mplayer". It is /the/ movie player for Linux (runs as well under Windows). You can hit the button to save the frame and stop the video frame by frame. You can even save automatically every frame of a particular scene (it comes very handy for making GIFs)

@broniebrown you... use Linux!! !hugs
-
@scribus I use Debian on almost every computer. But I consider trying Arch when I get the opportunity. I use Linux for about 4-5 years starting with openSuSE.

@broniebrown Sweet! I main Ubuntu, but Arch is my current "learner's project" (because Slack is just too far beyond me).

@broniebrown Eh... mplayer can't play FiM on my computer without skipping frames, for some reason, so I use VLC. (But VLC can't play DVDs for me, so I use mplayer for that. Go figure.)

@starshine Sounds a bit weird. On my Asus EEEPC 1000h I can play MLP:FiM in 720p with mplayer without a big hassle. You should then try mplayer2. It's almost the same but the developers are optimizing it for multicore usage.

@broniebrown That won't help me at all, having a single core CPU.
Thursday, 09-Jun-11 20:45:34 UTC from web-
@starshine I have no clue. I use the version 1.0 RC4 svn20110505.

@broniebrown Meh. Not like it matters, really, they both do the same thing.
