        @redenchilada As a Noise fanboy, I find many Dubstep songs to be more painful on my ears than Merzbow at times. Badly made Dubstep, especially when acquired in higher quality formats, can be quite painful.

                @bitshift I'm not saying Dubstep is inherently bad, I even have some of it in my collection. I do agree with @greydragon412 that "dropping the base" produces a simply painful noise in many songs, due to the artists not knowing what they're doing.                   @omni Pretty much. Even as someone who actually quite likes a number of dubstep songs, there is definitely an overabundance of a) producers who don't actually know what they're doing, and b) to use the term that appears to have been coined for stuff like Skrillex, "brostep".
