@ceruleanspark By the time I have my laptop, Steam Linux'll be out already.

@lovetolerateandsquee That isn't magically gonna make videogames work on your machine. Look at steam Mac. Source ports and casual games.

@ceruleanspark I know, but if the SteamBox rumours are to be believed, it's gonna be Linux-based, which would mean Valve would have to get a lot of their games Linux-compatible.

@lovetolerateandsquee Yes. That'll be the "Source ports" part.

@ceruleanspark Derp. I meant "A lot of THE games".

@lovetolerateandsquee You do realise valve can't just port someone elses game to a foreign OS, right? That isn't a thing that can happen.

@ceruleanspark They could ask the developers for the source code, though they would be completely insane if they would port games from other developers on their own costs.

@omni Also basically no major developer would do it. Some indies might well appreciate the help reaching a wider audience though.

@ceruleanspark Hurrdurr, I know nothing about video games. Well this is a dissapointment. Anyway, I mostly use consoles anyway, and I think my old HP G61 can handle BIT.TRIP BEAT, Fieldrunners, TF2 and Spacechem.

@lovetolerateandsquee Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office. We have good alternatives to those, though.

@omni Chromium and Libre > IE and Microsoft Office. Also, any other browser > IE

@lovetolerateandsquee Well, that only leaves some games (we have games, though, we even have pretty good and fun games, but we just have less games).
