@shadowdash454 Solution: run Linux instead. After over a year, it still runs as fast as day one :P

@redenchilada Now an image of the linux penguin dressed as a witch doctor is stuck on my mind. Thanks.

@redenchilada Since when is Linux not a suitable alternative for a general desktop if the issue is an Operating System which gets slow over time?

@omni Let's say you're a person who uses, say, Photoshop...
Wednesday, 12-Sep-12 21:45:36 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@redenchilada AFAIK Photoshop should run well in WINE. I at least recall Google pumping some money into that. Still, the discussion has nothing to do with special software which may or may not run. Do we have to go through this waste-of-time discussion again?
Wednesday, 12-Sep-12 21:47:28 UTC from web-
@omni Apparently we do, since none of anyone else's points ever seem to stick with you.

@redenchilada I'm not even going to bother continuing this discussion, seeing how you act like I should put a big disclaimer of several pages every time I mention the word "Linux" without you doing anything at all when you mention "Windows", especially when the discussion has nothing to do with any specific software and I'm only saying that Linux does not get so slow so quickly. Geez.

@omni No, you're telling someone to replace their operating system because some of the software is having issues.

@omni That's all about how good you are with the software manteinance and as a user in general.

@nerthos True, but you can't expect a user to stop installing and uninstalling software. That, for me at least, kinda defeats the point of a computer.

@omni I have a ubuntu sever at work that runs worlds slower than it used to. Which is weird, because all it does is sit there running squid and nagios.

@ceruleanspark I feel the need to say "Ubuntu" as I generally don't think all too high of that specific distribution, but I wonder what's actually causing that.

@omni I install and uninstall things all the time, and my computer runs fine. The poit of having a disk drive instead of a bootable DVD is being able to install and uninstall.
Wednesday, 12-Sep-12 21:46:50 UTC from web-
@nerthos I guess Windows just hates me, because I've never managed to keep a Windows system running quickly for more than a few months, no matter if I use cleaning tools like CCleaner or not.
Wednesday, 12-Sep-12 21:49:55 UTC from web-
@omni Probably.
