  1. Go is the absolute best programing language, change my mind.

    1. @oracle Programming languages are domain-specific languages that solve their own set of problems in their way. There is not such a thing of best or worst programming language. Some people (especially theoretical computer scientists) swear on functional programming languages because they are constructed match the way the proofs are written.

      1. @adiwan Would it help if I reworded my statement to say that Go is the best multi use programming language in respect to it's paradigm? I work a lot with assembly and low level code for embedded systems, obviously I can't use Go for those applications. I'm comparing it more to other high level general purpose languages. Ive had a few professors try to preach to my about functional languages and the "glories" of stateless calculation and rave about it's ability to easily be parallelized. Restrictive Functional programming like Haskell has it's place sure but sometimes its about as useful in production as Lambda Calculus!

        1. @oracle Well... Then I'd say that I prefer C++. It is finicky and hard to understand sometimes but it's the most universal language with tons of library support and has the best template system and supports multi-inheritance. I program mostly with C# and I constantly fall into unsupported language features of C# that I wish it had.

          1. @adiwan That’s a fair argument. The support and libraries are unmatched by far. It’s the downsides you mentioned that are the strengths of Go. C++ has stood against the test of time.
