So none of the formats for downloading Humble Bundle games are working. Great.

@lovetolerateandsquee Trying to install on linux I'm guessing?
-
@lovetolerateandsquee That's not enough info to even be remotely helping. For starters, which OS are you using? :P
-
@omni Ubuntu.
-
@lovetolerateandsquee Then you need the .deb file (or you could use the .tar.gz file, but I would recommend the .deb file). I assume you've tried that already, though, but what exactly doesn't work?
-
@omni I installed the .deb file through Software Center after I downloaded it, but when I try to run any of the games, the launcher icon flashes a few times (like it would if I was opening the program) but nothing else happens.
-
@lovetolerateandsquee Sounds like it's missing libraries (which kinda defeats the whole point of a .deb installer if the Humble Bundle guys didn't add the info about dependencies to the installer). Could you give me the output of "ls /usr/bin/" so I can try to find out how the game files are exactly named so I can tell you what to put in a terminal window to get more info? You'll probably want to paste it on a site like http://pastebin.com/ to not spam the timeline too much.
-
@omni Uh... output?
-
@omni Y'know, it's possible to attach .txts to the site too. http://ur1.ca/ad7lw
-
@lovetolerateandsquee You type the command in a terminal, and it gives you a lot of lines of text in response. This response is called the "output". You copy that, paste it on a site like http://pastebin.com/ and give the link to me :P
-
@omni Ok. Give me a second.
-
@lovetolerateandsquee Which Humble Indie Bundle did you try to install, if I may ask? I can't find any programs which appear to be part of the latest bundle. If I know which one you have, I know what to search for :P
-
@omni 5. But only Bit.Trip.Beat is installed at the moment, the rest I uninstalled (I was going to try reinstalling them)
-
@lovetolerateandsquee I can't see anything which I could recognise as Bit Trip Beat either. I'm sorry, I guess I'm not even awake enough to help you well. Have you tried contacting Humble Bundle support (assuming you didn't pirate the games) or asking around on one of the many Ubuntu Forums or IRC channels?
