And apparently the EU wants to prohibit downloading of music and movies in the Netherlands. Even though I never download music or movies illegally, I'm quite disappointed in this again...

@eaglehooves You can't enforce it, especially because you can't simply say "any .mp3 file is illegal". However, any attempt on censorship of the Internet is quite risky, because where will they stop? It'll only get worse and worse...

@omni Another big thorn in the free-as-in-speech internet issue is that it's technically privately owned by various corporations, any of whom is well within their rights to set their own rules for use of their resources.

@scribus True, true. And you can see those big corporations trying to take more and more power. It's quite scary, if you think about it...
