  1. According to one of my friends. "This will never stop being funny". Then why does it make me cry on the inside ? http://rainbowdash.net/url/874279

Maybe he cries on the inside manifest themselves as laughter ?

    1. @drinkingpony When you fail to qualify for basic human survival skills, you become a journalist

      1. @nerthos I do not think that doing good in video games is in any way a requirement for survival skills.

However making an ass out of yourself does not bode well in any situation, least of all when in a group when you need to fall back on basic human survival skills. ( like most of the stuff you do when at boy scout or marine camp, or pretty much any apocalypse-like game )

But jumping onto a box and then dashing onto another platform ? Nah. Unless if the 3th dimension dies or something.

        1. @drinkingpony I wasn't talking so much about videogames but rather the mental process behind that one bit. The guy fails at combination of basic concepts, hence not figuring out he can do both at once for quite a while.

Survival skills includes things like abstraction and adaptability, not just boy scout stuff.

          1. @nerthos Ohh. Yeah that makes sense.

We are probably going to disagree on what is exactly basic though. I mean do we lump in the ability to bake bread from nothing but nature into the same camp as baking bricks ? Or in the same camp as being able to make a steel forge ?

            1. @drinkingpony Those skills, while basic to civilization, are taught skills, not inherent to the human condition.

Anyone can learn taught skills, while natural born skills are a requirement to learn and execute the rest. To put it in another way, any person can build muscle as long as they have limbs, but a lack of limbs bars one from bodybuilding completely.

              2. @nerthos Ohh, you are talking mental and physical fortitude to walk the route from A to B. Such as grain to bread if you have nothing but grain, lumber, stone and clayish mud. In which the walking the walk is the important part.
