  1. Chinese Nintendo Switch adjustable charging stand. Minor repair was needed when I got it. Took a picture while my soldering iron was heating up. I can't help but wonder how similar the official one looks on the inside. No really, I can not find a teardown of that thing. http://rainbowdash.net/url/874404

        1. @drinkingpony Ah. I strongly believe that the official one is as dumb as this Chinese copy of yours. The current and voltage is just passed trough 1:1 from one connector to the other. I don't think that the stand has to regulate anything or do any kind of processing. 25€ for that thing is way too overpriced and should cost 1/10th of that.

          1. @adiwan Agreed, you can litterally achieve the same with a USB C hook connector and the cheapest tablet stand you can find. But that does not make me any less curious regarding and I still would like to see a picture of the official stand's internals.

"But it is Nintendo's official product and it just looks good" - a fanboy

Look, I am not saying you should not get it, I just expect more than just a fancy looking passthrough of GND, VBUS, CC and USB 2.0 data channels on something that would cost 25 Euro's and has USB type C. What for ? Well, Idunno really, but I am sure there is someone out there who would prefer to play with an XboX controller while in handheld mode and charging at the same time.
