  1. As for Transformers: Prime, its third season is set to shake up the whole status quo by introducing a bunch of literal robo-monsters for the rest of the cast to hunt and react to, changing a show about masquerading in plain sight into one about fighting monsters. The half of the fandom who are derisive of beast modes will probably be glad of the shorter length because they'll want that arc over and done with. It does make me wonder if MLP is going in a different direction too, though. Maybe flipping it arc-wise? Arunno. Idle speculation.

    1. @thelastgherkin My prediction is that the series will be a lot more one-shot-character heavy, with the new characters matching up with some of the existing toys. This is supported by both the existance of the crystal empire range and the newer show based brushables (Trixie, Lyra, Vinyl Scratch)

      1. @ceruleanspark Time will tell if they try to make an episode about My Little Pony 2012 Special Edition Pony.

        1. @thelastgherkin Given the way even the positive parts of the fandom behaved last time my money is on "no, never, suggest that again and you're fired"

          1. @ceruleanspark I wasn't sure if they'd try to... middle-of-the-road her some more.

            1. @thelastgherkin I think the fact that they have, as you've illustrated, done away her name altogether indicates they don't really see her as viable anymore. A good vehicle to milk money out of idiots, certainly, but not really of any use when it comes to manipulating the core demographic.

              1. @ceruleanspark Well yeah, that toy was SDCC exclusive, which is for collectors, not the core demographic. And none of the previous SDCC exclusive ponies have had names before now, so that's not a new phenomenon.

                1. @thelastgherkin If you're looking at it historically, none of the SDCC ponies have ever gone on to be in the show either.

                  1. @ceruleanspark The fandom rejoiced when the 2012 special edition pony went on to appear in the first episode in late 2010.

                    1. @thelastgherkin I would not honestly be surprised if people managed to doublethink their way into believing this to be true.

            2. @thelastgherkin Also the best way to middle of the road her would be in the path of a passing truck.
