@dlcentaur It's only an informatics test. They're probably going to ask me the difference between lossy and lossless and then I'll screw over my teacher by naming FLAC as a lossless format which it is but the book didn't talk about so he has to look it up online or something like that.

@dlcentaur Smart, yes. Considerate? No. Especially because FLAC had its initial release 3 years later, and Apple clearly just made it to not have to support other lossless codecs.

@dlcentaur Oh, Nightwish, that's a tough one... Well, you could always buy CDs and rip them as ALAC? Then you'll truly have the CD quality files on your system (a lot of online stores still don't sell any lossless files, unfortunately) :x

@omni Well, even CD's only provide a certain level of quality. They are 16 Bit and 44.1 KHz instead of 24 bit 44.1 KHz (Which doesn't really make a difference, but...) xD

@neurario I noticed your Gtalk uses neu [at] neurario.com, so I assume you're hosting your own XMPP server on your own domain. May I ask which one you are running? I'm trying to get Prosody running and it's working fine, but it refuses to talk to other XMPP servers (I don't get any message if someone adds me on Gtalk, btw). I did port-forward correctly (I don't have a domain name, only an IP address) so I wonder what's causing this :x
