  1. according to the current EQD poll, David Tennant WHO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MLP is in more demand for a guest spot than FiM's flippin' creator, Lauren Faust. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

      2. @techdisk I just grow tired of the explosive popularity of something that's been around for decades and no one cared until two doctors ago.

    2. @sonorouscadenza He's the man responsible for Doctor Who being popular with all the kids.

    3. @thehighlander Only by six votes. Faust was winning earlier.

    4. @xrevan86 Doctor Whooves, a fan crossover that turns Time Turner who does nothing more than flip an hourglass into a timelord. Again, David Tennant as nothing to do with the official show or its products. Fandom-of-fandom, snake eating its own tail, etc.

      1. @thehighlander Why is it a bad thing that people want someone uninvolved with the show as a guest appearance? Wasn't Weird Al a popular choice for that at one point?

        1. @redenchilada Look at the context. several of these guys would be awesome cameos, although some like Eddie Murphy would go largely unappreciated by anyone born after 1995 I'd say. If LF wasn't on the list, I'd have gone for NPH myself. But You have Faust on there, who was snubbed from the show, snubbed from the season 1 DVD release, and is responsible for getting this whole everything started in the first place. On top of this, Doctor Who is just too obnoxiously popular for what it is, so I'm never going to cut Doctor Who a break as long as I see 14 year olds clamoring about it. You know who else would be awesome? Jack Nicholson. He should voice a villain or something.

          1. @thehighlander I'm never going to cut My Little Pony a break because of its incredibly large fanbase who enjoy it.

            1. @thelastgherkin well you're certainly turning my valid argument on its head. But for that matter the MLP fandom has issues too because it seems a majority of MLP fans are actually just fans of the fanmade stuff. Like, it's hard to argue you're a fan of Scratch because all she does is show up and play music in the show. She has no actual character or do anything else. But the fandom has made up so much about her there's a thriving fanbase just on that.

              1. @thehighlander So you're saying that it's a fandom that has problems and raves wildly about the show's virtues?

                1. @thelastgherkin That's just crazy talk right there.

                2. @thelastgherkin I'm actually curious how you got that out of "a majority are actually fans of user-created content and not so much the show at all"

                  1. @thehighlander And I'm curious to see how fandoms are relevant at all to any enjoyment you can receive from a thing.

                    1. @thelastgherkin nothing stops me from enjoying the show. However, an alarming emphasis on "fanon > actual show" on the sites I use discourages me from enjoying the use of those sites (coughEQDcough), and I'm just disappointed. Would anyone REALLY like scratch or time turner if it wasn't for head-canon? Like the assumption that scratch's forte is dubstep, or the Doctor Whooves crossover thing. Does the show's characters need this much user-created injection to be enjoyable elements of the show?

                      1. @thehighlander To me the user created material helps keep interest going between seasons and helps makes the all too massive gap between seasons almost bearable.

                      2. @thehighlander This is a problem commonly found by fans of the touhou franchise. Most of the people who are into it have never played the games, and have absolutely no interest in canon.

    5. @xrevan86 Time Turner still has nothing to do with Doctor Who and that image still doesn't show any connection between Doctor Who and the show (though the image is pretty awesome).
