So, why is it that New Jersey is so frequently shortened to just "Jersey?" Nobody calls New York "York," New Orleans "Orleans," or New Mexico "Mexico," at least not that I've ever noticed. Did the original Jersey fall off and let New Jersey take over the position?

@scribus It's a shame because Jersey is a beautiful little island and by all accounts New Jersey is bad and smells funny.

@thelastgherkin So there is still an Original Jersey!

@scribus It's a little island in the Channel. Half British and half French. There are flowers all over the streets, and if you go over there there is no VAT tax so you can buy stuff for cheap. I got a DS Lite for £85, which is like £25 below RRP. Also it's full of castles and old war stuff from when the Jerries occupied it.

@thelastgherkin Keep your ignorance to yourself.

@thelastgherkin Neat!

@colfax Yakko Warner says it's true and you can't argue with that.

@thelastgherkin And just when I'm sure I can't think any less of someone you go and prove me wrong...
