        @pony They explained Shining's absence, but Cadence really doesn't have an explanation for the entire time between babysitting Twilight to the S2 finale. Cadence herself doesn't exactly connect PERFECTLY, but her slightly deeper delve into character in the S3 premiere made a but of sense. Again, she's a plausible character, but her pieces don't match up, particularly her inconsistancy in age.

            @pony Now that I think a little more, i suppose the "crystal princess" thing could have just been a prophecy or something of theirs. I suppose they didn't have one before Sombra. Still, if she's an alicorn and a princess, I imagine her maturity rate is much slower than normal ponies and the time between babysitting Twilight and the S2 finale wouldn't have been time for her to fully mature as she did.

              @abigpony hmm.. I figure she's probably more like Renesme from the Twilight series, (yes I went there), in that she matures to marehood at a normal rate or possibly more quickly, then stays at the perfect physical age forever after.
