@jla running Debian. So I got the source and followed instructions. BUT Debian does not have 'mac' for decoding APE...

@jla ... but VLC can *play* APE, and I can use that to transcode it to FLAC first :) For FLAC it works perfectly

@jla hmmm, not so fast - it still cannot read the FLAC files VLC created :(

@jla oh, wait... 'make' is actually a package that I need to install. Duh. I never though it would not be there already
