@techdisk Good evening

@omni how are you?
-
@techdisk A bit surprised at everyone seemingly yelling at The Linux Foundation, until I saw their latest video. Attached is a screenshot, I'm sure you can find out why people are a bit angry about having a video which is supposed to promote Linux look the way it does. http://ur1.ca/c4n44
-
@omni might be a skin.
-
@omni and hey, at least they're using Firefox
-
@techdisk Even if it is a skin, it shouldn't be looking like Mac OS X. If aren't going to promote iOS using an Android skin either, are you?
-
@omni yep
-
@omni true. Do they use the osx lookalike (or real thing) throughout?
-
@omni well, now that i think about it Linux isn't an os by itself, so...
-
@techdisk It's literally the whole video.
-
@techdisk Still, Mac doesn't run the Linux kernel. They could've used so many interfaces, or just hide the browser border completely, but out of all the bad choices they went for putting a Mac border around their pro-Linux video. I can understand where all the drama is from (and frankly, this isn't the first time they cause drama. Going along with SecureBoot and UEFI, amongst many other things, has already severely damaged their reputation amongst the Linux community.
-
@omni welp.
-
@omni how'd they go along with secureboot?
-
@techdisk They were like "Oh, hey, this stuff is fine. Just make sure the big Linux companies like Red Hat, SUSe and Canonical can also boot their stuff and we'll all be happy"
