        1. @unhipdruid The lack of standard USB support is a major turn-off for me. But hey, if it works for you~

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:00:59 UTC from MuSTArDroid
          1. @omni interesting, i just returned... meh. what do you mean?

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:01:28 UTC from web
            1. @unhipdruid The way how it forces you to use iTunes because you can't manage most files on the device using your file manager of choice. As someone who cannot (and doesn't want to) use iTunes, it makes the device practically useless for me. I have more reasons to prefer Android, but that really is one of the things which make me not want to use the device at all.

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:04:41 UTC from MuSTArDroid
              1. @omni even though it has just changed and everything is in a different place now, id rather use iTunes than anything else really. it works, never had an issue with limitations...

                1. @unhipdruid If you use it to manage your music, make backups. I spent hours trying to fix the mess iTunes caused once :P

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:17:24 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                  1. @omni one dislike, itunes backs up to your C: so it dumps my iPhone onto my SSD... but meh, i just back up and sync to iCloud anyway..

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:18:23 UTC from web
                    1. @unhipdruid As a Linux user: What is C:? A smiley? My music is on /media/windows/Music/FLAC and backed up to /media/externalstorage1/ :P

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:24:27 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                          1. @omni My boot drive is "Macintosh HD"

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:27:17 UTC from web
                          2. @omni exactly, i have the limited knowledge that /dev/sda*insert number here* were drives, what does it mean though? is dev device? whats sda?

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:26:03 UTC from web
                            1. @unhipdruid dev means device. sda probably means something like "storage device a", and the number corresponds to the partition number.

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:27:55 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                              1. @omni I seem to recall it's actually "SCSI Device <letter>" for historical reasons, but yeah.

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:30:50 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                1. @bitshift @ceruleanspark I was just guessing, you guys are probably closer to it than I am :P

                                  1. @omni i would thing SATA Device <letter>

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:33:32 UTC from web
                                    1. @unhipdruid Seems @bitshift and @ceruleanspark agree with you. Well, I learned something again today :P

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:34:48 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                              2. @omni I think it's SATA device A, as systems using IDE devices use HDA.

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:31:03 UTC from web
                                1. @ceruleanspark Aah yes. That was it, not "SCSI".

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:33:47 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                  1. @bitshift Wikipedia does in fact say SCSI

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:34:49 UTC from web
                                    1. @ceruleanspark hmm, SCSI is a little limited now, its for Enterprise level servers and RAID arrays isnt it?

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:35:59 UTC from web
                                      1. @unhipdruid @ceruleanspark and even then, its been replaced by SAS...

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:36:37 UTC from web
                                      2. @unhipdruid According to the article it's just called that because it uses the SCSI driver for a bunch of other things, including SATA, USB and Firewire, rather than having any actual relevance to the standard itself.

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:37:49 UTC from web
                                        1. @ceruleanspark oh well, i guess it works then...

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:38:41 UTC from web
                                    2. @ceruleanspark ...huh. SATA makes more sense, but okay.

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 14:39:09 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                      1. @bitshift I don't think "Sense" has any place in the depths of linux device management. This is the realm in which "printer on fire" is considered a cromulent error message after all.

                                          1. @omni WARNING: Cerulean not safely unmounted.

                                            1. @bitshift There is no safe way to unmount Cerulean (wonk wonk)

    8. @ceruleanspark as funny and sad as that is, how is he finding the posts themselves in order to retweet them? He's clearly not searching by something like hashtag #

Tuesday, 25-Dec-12 12:11:03 UTC from web
      1. @purplephish20 He does this every year, but he's probably got a bunch of searches running for high priced items like "iPhone" and "Macbook" and he's just picking out the whiners.
