  1. Hmm, My head just came up with the following problem. If I am playing Magic the Gathering and I have an Aquastrand Spider ( http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=247188 ) and a Fathom Mage ( http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=366399 ) on the battlefield. Then play a Cloudfin Raptor ( http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=366403 ) and move the 2 graft counters from Aquastrand Spider to Cloudfin Raptor, do I get 2 counters on Fathom Mage ?

      1. @mushi I will. Say @ceruleanspark what do you think about my "Aquastrans Spider & Fathom mage then play Cloudfin Raptor" problem

        1. @critialcloudkicker No, because Cloudfin Rafter has to resolve to the battlefield before you can put the counters on it, so it enters the battlefield as a 0/1, which doesn't trip Fathom Mage's ability.

          1. @ceruleanspark I have to disagree with that because Graft and Evolve both happen at the same time, and rule 116.5 of the official rule compendium http://derpy.me/KDv3g state that in terms of priority this is a single event. Because I choose to first put my Graft tokens to my Cloudfin Raptor, and then check if stronger creatures than my Fathom Mage come into play my Fathom Mage gets 2 +1/+1 counters, and I get 2 cards. Why do I come up with rule 116.5 ? Because one of my lovely and friendly local judges wondered the same thing, and then wondered what would happen if you'd counter my Cloudfin Raptor without ever actually answering my question. Leaving me to wonder "Wait, I get 2 cards now right ?" #

            1. @critialcloudkicker there are different kind of triggers in this game. Fathom Mage's ability may possibly only trigger if it sees a bigger creature etb. If the creature's already in and then got bigger upon entering via grafting, you *may* have missed the window. (You'll need to ask an active judge, I am totally inactive.) This scenario you've created is different from cards which create effects like "your creatures enter the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters," which would actually trigger Fathom Mage if the etb creature wouldn't normally do so by itself. Timing timing timing.

    2. @critialcloudkicker you can only graft one counter per graft creature per new creature

      1. @crusader8 Actually that problem is solved by Doubling Season if I am not mistaken ( http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=89116 ) ... As for inactive judges... I feel that.
