@ryanjjjj From my perspective I was a few years back but realized I was just being a little papayas and grew up. At least that's my story, and I know others have their own actually good reasons.

@wafers for me it was anger. i was generally mangoesed off with everything and everyone. i still wear my hair long and listen to metal but the brony community really pulled me out of that slump. i am alot happier now and i have personally developed because of it.

@ryanjjjj For me it was realization. I'm just an angry person by nature and simply refuse to be sad about things. I still rock my sort of long hair but listen to ost's and orchestras though. I got bored of metal.

@snowcone dont be a silly, your construct wasnt bad at all, it was proportioned and a great start. what else you got?

@snowcone ah, i dont do construction either. its not a requirement and really learning without is better for scale by eye. i actually do alot of drawings and can say i dont any of that. doing it in layers is the tricky part but with practice is accomplished. I was always taught that you start with contour, draw in the dark areas and begin the basic definition (looks nothing like what you want) then erase for highlights and add in detail. its a little hard to talk about via text but basically earasing is good for 3d and realism as well as general purpose drawing.

@snowcone not at all, infact construction is taught as practice and intended to be droped down the road. my art teacher wont teach it because you can learn faster skipping it all together. trust me, learning to proportion on the fly is a talent in itself.

@snowcone :D lul artists, *shrugs* yeah if that's how you want to go that's fine it does teach proportion but i just simply don't use it :/ and i can do a decent black n white of my face realistically.

@snowcone tbh, it is a bit of a controversy, many artists argue it is required but realistically it can be skipped if practiced

@snowcone yeah, if it works do it for sure, it also depends on the medium. i don't like making art electronically, i draw the old fashioned way. with my 2B, 4B, 6B and H pencils
