    What's also stupid: in the first season of pokemon we were told that there are only 150 pokemon. But then suddenly a bazillion of new pokemon came that "nobody" knew of.

        @pokestrike Yotho and Kanto aren't so far away from eachother. There had to be some sort of communication. I know that overthinking it is stupid.

      @broniebrown I once read a theory that in the first Pokemon games the kids were actually writing the descriptions of the pokemon as they caught them. They were trying to explain some of the unrealistic descriptions of "hotter than the earth's core" as exaggerations from little kids, but that theory would also be a good explanation for that.
