        @ceruleanspark I think it's the presumption that as RPers or fic writers they can simply close the universe of FiM that I've always disliked. I wonder what the RP dite has done with alicorn Twi recently if anything..

          @pony Nothing. Their point of divergence was pre-Discord, so everything that happened since has had zero impact on their "Story" as it were.

              @pony I think there's currently a debate about whether or not they should nuke their current canon because it's becoming impenetrable to new users.

                  @pony The trouble is that the most organic solution: starting a new completely independant canon and keeping the old one around as "RP classic" has the same consequences as splitting this site between multiple instances does: Either one or the other dies, or the split makes it so hard to find good conversation on either instance that they both die.

                    @ceruleanspark I think they might do best to weed out their incompatible fanon and reconstruct it to follow canon maybe after s4 has started. I don't imagine it'd be that hard to keep their characters' histories functionally the same while altering the details.

                      @pony I don't pretend to understand the intricacies of their canon and how much of it is actually load-bearing and whether or not it'd implode during such an editing process

                          @firestormdangerdash yeah but rp has a certain random/ unexpected feel to it that makes you feel more involved in the story then reading it alone.
