If we had more events as a site a calendar would be a cool idea. As it is right now I can't see it getting a lot of use. :/

@redenchilada yeah. For utah having the highest concentration of bronies per capita, I'm surpised I'm the only active member of !utahbronies but even the groups that used to be active here seem to have become less so.

@pony Everyone's moved to Facebook groups or Meetup groups or whatever the heck else they're doing. For instance all of the Austin bronies are on facebook and don't even give other places half a glance, except for the website that the guy TOP gave admin to is trying to push on everyone.

@redenchilada maybde rather than competing with FB we could offer a FB app or something? It would be super cool to somehow get RDN to integrate and appear on my FB timeline

@redenchilada hmm.. I guess maybe.. but we can't really compete with FB either, so what then? I mean we offer a unique environment for networking and chatting that SN provides, but our niche is fairly small. I've mentioned RDN on my FB groups several times, but nopony has asked me about it. I've thought about mentioning the RDNstream but Google musses that up by blocking several videos in the US.

@pony *shrug* I've tried selling the local group on the place by mentioning how well it facilitates spoiler discussion (seeing all the workarounds they resort to on the FB page) but nobody asked. I dunno, really. I think people have just realized that this isn't the optimal place for meetup discussion since that usually involves sharing phone numbers, etc and everything here is public.

@redenchilada True about spoiler discussions. Utah bronies has a separate FB group for that which isn't necessary here. Maybe I'll eventually just write a script for myself that plugs RDN into my FB timeline or something. I know I'd use it, and maybe other FB users like @mushi possibly.

@pony I dunno. Trying to encourage group usage here probably isn't what we need to be focusing on anyway. Yesterday we were talking about it and the matter of the fact is RDN is more of an open social network than the popular networks nowadays. It'd be nice to see more people on here either way, but I don't think it's really gonna happen unless the site was completely flipped upside down, and that'd just alienate the users we have.

@redenchilada I'm thinking of making a plugin that's not even necessarily group focused.. I picture having something versatile that would allow me to basically view and respond to conversations on the public timeline from any or every page I choose on FB. Any dashes tagged with my local group would appear on the relevant group page(s) on FB of course. I could also set up the gameloft group on RDN to do the same on its FB counterpart. Heck, if I'm feeling really ambitious I might set it up to involve my tumblr dashboard and twitter timeline. Why doesn't something like this already exist? Combine ALL THE NETWORKS!

@widget I was thinking something more alongt the lines of a browser plugin or Greasemonkey script really. I have no desire to make an actual FB plugn unless the idea were to get reallyh popular and thre were a demand
