  1. If anyone in the UK wants to watch the BBC News feed on Oslo, here's a link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-14254705

    1. @leonkfox Thanks. US news stations are too busy showing Casey Anthony crap to focus on international news right now. :\

      1. @princessluna That's why I only watch my local channel and BBC World, when I feel like watching the news that is, sometimes I go for really long periods without keeping track of it.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:06:47 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
        1. @colfax I only ever watch BBC News when I do watch the news (in the UK)

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:08:45 UTC from web
          1. @leonkfox Yeah, but I'm in the US and found that the BBC is a bit more reliable that Faux News or CNN.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:10:50 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
            1. @colfax I have no idea about CNN, but even as a non American I know what a joke Faux...sorry, Fox News are.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:11:35 UTC from web
              1. @leonkfox But, there's also a really good chance the whole phone hacking thing might kick Fox down a flight os stairs.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:13:02 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                1. @colfax Yeah, News of the World got shut down over that one! Rightfully so, of course.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:14:10 UTC from web
      2. @princessluna Wait, that link works outside of the UK???

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:07:02 UTC from web
        1. @leonkfox Yup! Sure does!

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:09:02 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
          1. @princessluna Surprised, the BBC iPlayer doesn't work outside of the UK, assumed the BBC News feed would be the same.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:10:28 UTC from web
        2. @leonkfox And I'm glad that it does. There's not enough coverage going on over here.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:09:38 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
          1. @princessluna Sorry to hear that :/

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:11:57 UTC from web
            1. @leonkfox Coverage seems to be picking up, now that there's more going on and a 2nd attack. But yeah, when news broke of the bombing, it spent a minimum of time on the headline, then moved on.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:13:16 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
              1. @princessluna That is pretty crappy, if you ask me. This is breaking news, it should be treated as such.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:14:46 UTC from web
      3. @princessluna all of them?

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:09:18 UTC from MuSTArDroid
        1. @shoutingryan Some of them. CNN broke away to go onto more jovial headlines and a commercial break. I turned off the TV in disgust.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:10:12 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
          1. @princessluna I get all my news online. Slashdot and Google News. That way I know when something might have originated on faux

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:12:05 UTC from MuSTArDroid
            1. @shoutingryan I swear, do most Americans call Fox Faux??? If they're that bad, why are they even on air???

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:13:26 UTC from web
              1. @leonkfox I maintain, you go to Fox for comedy and Comedy Central for news.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:14:47 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                1. @colfax Not the first time I've heard that one, either.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:15:29 UTC from web
                  1. @leonkfox Al Jazeera (http://english.aljazeera.net/) is another good source of news too.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:19:17 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                    1. @colfax Thanks ^^ I still generally stick with BBC though, since I have their app on my htc Desire Z and are usually the first news channel I see on TV on the odd occasion I watch it, and they do seem to be one of the most credible sources in the UK.

                      1. @leonkfox Actually, Al Jazeera is a source for the BBC

              2. @leonkfox They have the highest customer satisfaction score. *is looking at the most recent results for this right now* There are many idiots that believe everything they say. Most people who are on the Internet all the time know better. Even Fox knows fox news is wrong. "Even true things that are on fox news eventually become lies." ~Lois Griffin from Family Guy

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:18:35 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                1. @shoutingryan There are seriously a lot of people that believe what Faux News have to say? Wow...I guess it answers my question though.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:22:29 UTC from web
                  1. @leonkfox Yeah... Last fall, My stepdad would be telling me not everything I read on the Internet is true (i had been getting into reading slashdot and stuff) then he goes and tells me that there's nothing wrong with fox news. I was stunned. And then when I showed my brother's friend's mom an article about a school district having a mock election with democrat-only ballots and bribing them with ice-cream. SHE BELIEVED EVERY WORD and I couldn't manage to explain the wrongness. Her kids ALL knew it was obvious lies. Even the 11 year old. And this is in a bery democratic area.

          2. @princessluna Been keeping an eye on that online as well. (No TV near my office, and not a fan of TV, anyway, news or otherwise.) Gave up on CNN on the online side, too, when they splashed a giant hysteria-and-pure-hype-mongering headline of "NORWAY UNDER ATTACK!" on their page. Yes, it's a terrible tragedy, but, to my knowledge, no declarations of war have been made, and enemy armies are not sweeping through the Scandinavian countryside. So, mostly hitting the BBC site. Praying for the folks over there. Going to be very curious as to what brought this about. Also worried about how everyone will respond. What a whacko world we live in. No wonder we need ponies.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 19:48:09 UTC from MuSTArDroid
            1. @astra Some groups have claimed responsibility, but there are no set in stone conclusions as of yet.

Friday, 22-Jul-11 20:28:53 UTC from web
              1. @leonkfox It looks like the main group claiming responsibility is Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami, a.k.a. The Helpers of the Global Jihad. Seems they're upset with Norway's presence in Afghanistan, and that newspaper that reprinted the comic that they feel insulted Mohammed. *sigh*

Friday, 22-Jul-11 20:43:30 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                1. @astra I don't care if I come across as racist as I know not all Islamic people are into this crap, but I fail to feel surprised :/

Friday, 22-Jul-11 21:13:27 UTC from web
                  1. @leonkfox Unfortunately, as I suspected that it would be either that, or some whacko rebellion group trying to bring the wave of government overthrows to Norway, I can't say that I am, either. :(

Friday, 22-Jul-11 21:34:13 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                    1. @astra Every time I hear about something like this, I automatically expect it to be related to some Islamic group :/
