    1. @broniebrown Although I like ABP. I have yet to establish a moral beachhead in where I think "I am right for wanting to go online and surf without being bothered by ads, main reason is because it is a source of income for the people who are providing me with content"

      1. @critialcloudkicker I think it is worse with mobile online surfig from a moral standpoint. There are contracts that you pay for a specific amount of data. So when you encounter an ad it means you had payed for this data-wasting ad.

        1. @broniebrown Are you saying that someone should get free content the other party has to put money down for whilst the person on the recieving end should be able to put down the income revenue stream just because their data stream is not big enough ? That is like me offering you a service installing door shutters but telling me that I am not allowed to wear my own companies clothes as I install the door shutters.

          1. @critialcloudkicker I know, I know it is a very iffy topic.

            1. @broniebrown Morally it is a difficult concept. Yet then again there are enough websites who have enough ads trying to get more money from their site which effectively break their own site

              1. @critialcloudkicker There is a bigger German tech news site that made a huge article about asking their users to disable the ad blocker on this site. They promised not to have blinking or flash ads (with audio) or even layer ads. It turned out that some people had these types of ads on their screen. The ad company was responsible for this and the site apologized for this. But still it is a reason for me to have my ad blocker always on.

                1. @broniebrown I honestly only disable addblocker for sites who I deem worthy of my time, and as soon as I get iffy stuff, there is a certain button on my browser I can push at any time
