@critialcloudkicker Well the way I see it, if you've played and enjoyed the other games, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't get it.

@ecmc Last game I got was Pokemon Silver. The game before that was Pokemon Blue. This was still in the Gameboy-era ofcourse. Pokemon has super-duper evolved since "errmygerd, colours !"

@critialcloudkicker Yeah it was the same for me until earlier this year... I had only ever played Red/Blue, but when X/Y was announced I thought I'd give the rest of the series a go. I got really into it and now I'm super hype for XY. The only ones I haven't played now are Black/White and their sequels. I suggest you try out gen 3 and/or gen 4 before deciding if you want the new one. Luckliy there is VBA and DS emulators for that.

@critialcloudkicker well after you're done with that, move on to gen 4 (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) and then gen 5 if you want, and if you continue to enjoy them then you'll know if you should get XY.

@critialcloudkicker Yeah well I dunno what to say. You either play them to see if you like it first or just jump in to XY when it comes out (thought honestly I think it'll be enjoyable enough even if you haven't played previous games).

@critialcloudkicker Well we are only talking about the "Main Games" column, and there's really only 3 games at the most that you'd need to play, one from gen 3, one from gen 4 and one from gen 5. Though I haven't even played gen 5 and I'm still looking forward to XY.

@ecmc See, now that is usefull information :) I guess I might try pokemon Platinum or Black though, since I really want to know what the 2nd screen is going to add

@critialcloudkicker Of the two, platinum adds far more than black. Black basically relegates it to just controlling the social features, wheras Platinum actually uses it in gameplay.
