the absolute dumbest change to shinies is how you're pretty much 100% guaranteed to get one with just a half hour of fishing

@rarity How's that work?
-
@rarity I've been doing that and I've yet to get a shiny. I've NEVER SEEN A SHINY EVER. ;_;
-
@fuzzypony if you fish in the same spot without failing a reel-in (too early, too late, not even a nibble etc), after somewhere in the 60+ range I think you're odds are really good
-
@rarity Probably works about the same as chaining with the Pokeradar, by the time you reach 40 you're at a 1/200 odd of a shiny.
-
@rarity Isn't there as trick to find out where to fish?
-
@fuzzypony People say you fish on shiny spots, being close to a place where you can't move helps cause apparently moving breaks the chain too.
-
@minti it's too bad gen 2 can't trade with gen 3 or I'd be able to make any of the pokemon in gen 2 shiny and trade it up
-
@pony Gen2 shinies are not Gen3 shinies by default. As Gen2 shinies are a predetermined match of IV's that make a pokemon shiny. In Gen3 however the math/logic behind shinies changed
-
@pony Pfft :P Gen 2 was my baby.
-
@critialcloudkicker yeah, and as I understand the two gens are incompatible completely. no trading between them :(
-
@critialcloudkicker or maybe that's between 3 & 4
-
@minti Ah how I loved the glitches. hours of entertainment well after the game was beaten.
-
@pony mostly in gen 1 though
