    1. @dyshviccer Are cell phones allowed at schools these days? I know they weren't 10 years ago.

        1. @ceruleanspark I thought my brother wasn't allowed to have them in our county's schools. Maybe it just depended on the county. I mean.. he could have a cell phone but if he was caught using it it would be taken from him. Thank goodness for graphing calculator games!

      2. @pony in Austria they are during breaks. If you use your phone during a lesson, the teacher is allowed to take your phone and you get it back on the next school day. If the teacher takes your phone on a Friday, you will get your phone back on Monday which really sucks...

        1. @dyshviccer ah ok. then I guess policy is pretty consistent. Back when I was in high school cell phones barely had texting and it was way too expensive to just get your kid a cell phone..

          1. @pony I would love to live in a world in which not every 10-year-old has a appleing IPhone. A kid I know(11 years) has the IPhone 5, IPad 3, an IPod Touch and a MacBook Air. His parents are wondering why he keeps getting bad grades...

            1. @dyshviccer A family science class I took taught me that "screen time" for kids is best limited to a few hours daily outside of supervised homework. Man that seems stingy, but I agree there's way too much screen time for kids sometimes, and adults for that matter.. including myself :P

              1. @pony There's a penny arcade comic in which Gabe is reading a story to his son in which one of the characters restricts his kids to an hour online a day. Gabe tells his son "What his father is doing is abuse, and his son should call child services"
