        @hannes2pony our search /does/ occasionally return posts from other instances for reasons I've never been able to discern.

          @ceruleanspark our search searches all notices our instance know about. this is apparently also the case when i _subscribe_ to a search. nice feature i think :)

          @ceruleanspark I believe it's the case that search will return any notices it knows about, regardless of instance. Notices from accounts elsewhere get sent over here if anyone here is subscribed to them, or if they explicitly put "@blahblah@rainbowdash.net" to address someone here. That's my understanding of ostatus, anyway.
