  15. @widget I didn't mean that there be a section for dashes that contain the group tags, that'd be too cluttered. I meant that there be simply links to groups like !streams !artists !Youtube etc (no idea if those are real groups right now) that way, anyone who wants their work seen can post using those group tags, and anyone looking for a youtube to watch or something can go to the group from the sidebar.

  16. @widget Did you see my idea for the promoted notices?

Thursday, 11-Apr-13 02:29:52 UTC from web in context
  17. @widget How significant? Theoretically it'd just be searching the tag/group/whatever's being promoted in the notice and adding a "class="promoted"" or whatsit to it. (I don't know how much processing power that takes, though, so please let me know if there's something making this a stupid idea)

  21. I just got here, so I don't know if we're still talking about the promoted dashes. I thought I'd throw in my idea anyway. I was thinking that maybe the current promoted dashes thing could be used exclusively for mod notices (like stickies on a forum). For what @widget was saying about promoting community stuff, I have an idea that could let that happen without showing favoritism. There could be a little area that had links to groups for streams, artwork, anything made by people on the site. Here is a VERY CRUDE mockup so you can visualize it. Just my two cents. http://ur1.ca/dc6jj

  23. @widget I honestly have no clue, your IP matched someone elses or something who was banned for being stupid or something idk. xD And yeah, that's the plan now, I'mma start sending push requests to you soon once I actually change the things bugging me. :D

  24. @widget no sure how to respond to that...

  25. @widget I kind of second @redenchilada here. Maybe promote a couple of general groups - art, games, something, rather than local ones - and that'll make RDN a place to chat and more stuff.

  26. @widget You're getting defensive. Promoting groups/tags is exactly what this site needs to encourage that method of organization, and thus, attract new users who are looking for a place to share stuff and find stuff as opposed to a simple chat room type community.

  27. @widget Why not just schedule a staff meeting and decide there?

Wednesday, 10-Apr-13 17:54:24 UTC from web in context
  28. @widget I'm not complaining. I'm just saying it'd work better that way.

Wednesday, 10-Apr-13 17:50:01 UTC from web in context
  29. @widget Then why not promote the !art group instead of individual drawings? Maybe have a !streams group and promote that? Promoting individual posts is higher-maintenance and tbh appears to the userbase as playing favorites.
