  2. @cabal i had hackintoshes for a while, but eventually i got tired of how cheap PC build quality is and wanted a real mac

  3. @cabal yep, i should go and tell them about all the hackintoshes we have in our house lol

  4. @cabal perhaps, but it ran nicely when it was brand new. I run it an extremely light system with minimal apps, most of my work is web based so there's no reason for it to run so poorly, except for it being windows of course, hehe.

  5. @cabal i don't think so, everything I know is self taught, and I know a lot more about macs then the people in the apple stores, hehe

  6. @ladestitute i don't deny that they're more expensive but you get what you pay for with technology. The build quality is far superior. I have used a lot of macs and PC's over the years. PC are fast when they're brand new, but they continually slow down and develop system errors, whereas macs will stay the same as new for long time. After a year my work PC is a bucket of mud, but my macbook is just as fast as the day I bought it

  7. @cabal sure you can upgrade them, i just upgraded the ram on my new mac a week ago, you just have to be smarter to work on macs, hehe

  8. @ladestitute i've used Win 7 a lot, every day at work for over a year, it's a better windows distro for sure, they copied Mac OSX bigtime on the interface, but it's still terrible in comparison, it hasn't been reliable at all, half the time I have to do work on my macbook because the windows computer is always failing at things

  9. @cabal i like my setup with 2.7 Ghz Core i7, 8 GB Ram and OSX Lion, i use linux for my server though

  13. @mrbrown there are methods to increase dream retention, such as keeping a notepad by your bed and recording your dreams when you wake up before moving around.

Thursday, 18-Aug-11 15:53:51 UTC from StatusNet Desktop in context
  14. @mrbrown now just realizing you are dreaming, but becoming able to control the dream. With total dream control you can keep yourself asleep or wake yourself up from within the dream.

  15. @mrbrown do you have lucid dreams?

  22. @kingpopadopalus the company would pay very high taxes so that much of the profits would go back into the public revenue. But more commonly their commercial entities are more like NPO's where revenue is recycled back into the public. Like the swedish DNS corp which is a public benefit corp where all revenues are used to fund technological develop and costs of infrastructure.

  24. @captlynch republicans love to call things they don't communist in an effort to negate public support.

Wednesday, 27-Jul-11 15:35:47 UTC from StatusNet Desktop in context
  25. @shoutingryan socialist is where everything is for the purpose of benefiting the public. Where revenues are recycled into public funding instead of pofiting individuals.

  26. @kingpopadopalus yes, but iam not talking about comunist russia, i am talking about socialist countries like sweden and denmark. That's the problem, people hear "socialism" and all their brains can think about is comunist russia. They are ignorant to the fact that some socialist countries work and are more economically stable than any democracy

  27. @kingpopadopalus bush is a president who disregards poor and middle class peple and wants to discriminate against gays and minorities. I agree that Obama is wishy/washy he has been a big dissapointment

Wednesday, 27-Jul-11 15:25:35 UTC from StatusNet Desktop in context
  28. @kingpopadopalus the welfair excuse is popular among americans. But in reality the socialist countries have much lower inemployement than the USA. They may provide services to those who need it but a larger share of the people are working.

Wednesday, 27-Jul-11 15:20:54 UTC from StatusNet Desktop in context
  29. @kingpopadopalus i don't think it was possible for obama to change the economy much, these were all gigantic things that were already going. You can't just pull out all your troops from a war in progress and expect all the enemies to dissapear. And having a democratic congress doesn't really do you any good when there isn't enough majority to pass anything

Wednesday, 27-Jul-11 15:19:00 UTC from StatusNet Desktop in context
  30. @kingpopadopalus ayep. I favour a socialist system similar to the scandinavian countries. They have the least corruption and most solid economies of anyplace in the world. But too many americans are against it because they think the word "socialist" equals evil, lol. The ignorance in this country is assounding.
