@rarity True. But then again, you aren't going to get into a union in my line of work unless you know someone in the union and/or are related to him/her.

@rarity I was able to sign up for benefits again after I got past a temporary probation period at my new job. Granted, they are not as good as what union shops offer, but then again, the unions in the HVAC sector around here are so tight that you practically need to be born into them. :(

@redenchilada I sleep poorly and constantly check the phone when I am on call for my job (emergency after hours HVAC service). Granted, I haven't been on call much, and the phone never rang when I was on call.
