    • I fired a SCAR-17S yesterday. It was quite controllable for a 7.62X51mm rifle. It is a shame I don't have $2800 or so to spare so I can add one to my collection. :(

      • I actually found some .22LR on the shelves yesterday.

      • I resolved my RPK's occasional feeding issues by replacing the magazine catch. I had to do a bit of fitting with my Dremel tool on an unissued East German catch, but this gun is now running flawlessly. The old catch was so worn that the magazines would occasionally seat so low that the cartridges would not be properly extracted from the magazine.

          • I acquired an Israeli Kareen Mk. III (Browning Hi-Power variant) for a mere $230.00 not too long ago. I am now waiting for some spare magazines I ordered to arrive.

            • I have been busy as of late, but I did manage to cobble together an FN-49 from various parts (Egyptian contract receiver and barrel, 8X57mm Mauser). I also took notice of falling prices and purchased a VZ-2008 rifle and a Zastava M92PV pistol.

              • !gunbronies This is relevant to my current interests. I don't own a firearm currently, but I've been thinking of getting a 1911, or a .44 magnum sometime soon.

                • !gunbronies For the record, that 1911 I picked up before my college courses began has proven to be a most enjoyable gun to shoot. ;)

                  • !gunbronies I have been rather busy, given that I have been preparing to return to college (I will be going to school full-time and working full-time for the next two years), but I finally did manage to get my hooves on a 1911 variant. :)

                    • !gunbronies guns and ammunition is starting to come back in slowly

                      • !gunbronies I finally noticed 9X19mm ammunition on shelves again. Granted, it was being rationed; I was only allowed to buy 100 rounds of it. Nonetheless, the mere fact that such ammunition is trickling in just shows that the panic is continuing to run out of steam. Furthermore, I also picked up a Ruger Mark III pistol, given that I still have a decent stash of .22LR ammunition (I can practice pistol shooting cheaply with this while I slowly rebuild my 9mm stash). :)

                        • !gunbronies My youngest brother turned 21 recently and bought a Springfield Armory XD pistol chambered in .40 S&W. :)

                          • !gunbronies I finally got around to trying out an XDM chambered in .40 S&W. The pistol has good ergonomics, but when it comes to polymer framed pistols, I still prefer the GLOCK. I can be accused of bias, given that I have owned, fired, and carried GLOCK pistols for years, but I believe it is undeniable that the GLOCK has the superior trigger (less travel and quicker reset).
